Strathcona Harvest Festival
The Harvest Festival is a multi cultural, all ages, free community celebration where everyone can join in the festivities, sing and dance to the music of local talent, play some good old fashioned games, enjoy feasting and spend a fun filled afternoon with old acquaintances while having the chance to make some new ones.Featuring: Food Workshops and Community Kitchen, Scarecrow Making, Face Painting, Seasonal Arts & Crafts, Fun and Games, Potlcuk and Pie Contest!

Vancouver Asahi Tribute Game
Japanese Canadian National Museum & Carnegie Community Centre present the 6th Annual Vancouver Asahi Tribute Game, commemorating the last game played on the Powell Grounds by the famed Japanese-Canadian baseball team on September 18, 1941. Hogan's Alley Poetry Festival
Vancouver 125: This Is Stathcona is excited to be collaborating with the BLACK DOT Roots & Culture Collective - who will co-programming some of our events on the SundayNational Congress of Black Women Foundation and Black Dot Roots and Culture Collective present a celebration of culture, diversity and creativity in Vancouver on its 125th Anniversary with spoken word poetry, music, film, food and refreshment.
Featuring Opening Night Reception and Film Screening on friday night, PodPlays, Community Chat and Spoken Word on the Saturday and PodPlays and Storytelling on the Sunday (featured on our DIY Heritage Scavenger Hunt tour) - with special spoken word and music performances on our MacLean Park stage, followed by a closing night Poetic Reception at the Brickhouse (19+)

Downtown Eastside Smudge Ceremony
The smudge will be conducted by 40 Aboriginal ceremonial spiritual elders and leaders. We will walk from the four sacred directions and smudge the entire DTES this will help to rid years of negative energy that has accumulated and is hurting the people and our Mother the Earth. The four races of the medicine wheel have been invited and will walk and pray in their own way from their sacred direction. We will meet on the corner of Hastings and Main and pray for all women to be honored as sacred life givers and clan mothers. Flags will be lifted in ceremony for the women of the world who suffer from violence and a call for support will be put out for all men to walk with women in a good way.10:30 - 3:00pm Main and Hastings
